How I Used Tailwind To Skyrocket My Blog Traffic, increase views, and grow my email list in just one month.
In the past month, I've had some serious success with growing my blog traffic and email list. It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication, and I am so happy that the time and effort I have put in is finally paying off!
With over a year of blogging under my belt and 6,000 + page views per day, I can now confidently give you some advice on how to grow your following and your email list like a pro! This is an area I haven’t ventured into writing about before, but I’m excited to have a chance to help other bloggers and small business owners out there!
In just 3 weeks, I have grown my email list from zero to 600+ subscribers and increased my blog traffic from 100 page views per day to over 6,000 views per day. This success can mostly be attributed to the following I have gained on Pinterest, using Tailwind to schedule all of my content.
If you're looking to increase your blog traffic and build your email list; then read on! I am going to share with you why I love using Tailwind for Pinterest + a couple of other easy tips that you can use to start driving more traffic to your blog today!
Tailwind is a service that is integrated with Pinterest, and allows you to schedule bulk numbers of pins at optimal times. The more active you are on Pinterest, the more your content will be seen. I used to spend up to an hour every day re-pinning content on Pinterest. I had heard of Tailwind but was hesitant to try it because I thought that I could manually re-pin enough content every day on my own. The reality is – no one has time for that! I eventually got tired of doing all this work (with very few results), and decided to give tailwind a go, because I saw that there was a free month trial.

MY RESULTS USING TAILWIND
With Tailwind, I spend only 1 hour every 2 weeks, selecting pins in bulk amounts to be added to my weekly tailwind schedule. In just 1 hour, I can fill my tailwind schedule with 100 pins/ day, for the next two weeks.
Not only does this increase engagement on Pinterest, but it also saves me tons of time, and drives an insane amount of traffic to my blog.
Below is a screenshot of my blog statistics (views per day) over the last couple of weeks. As you can see I am now getting over 6,000 views per day. This is huge growth! I have been blogging for a year now, and before I started using tailwind, I would get about 100 views per day, on average. Tailwind has become an indispensable tool for me, and the results have definitely been worth the cost to upgrade to the Plus plan.
SOME FEATURES THAT I LOVE ABOUT TAILWIND:
- It allows you to create a pin schedule, which automatically finds the optimal times to pin content based on your audience, traffic, and blogging niche.
- Effortlessly schedule multiple pins at once with the safari or chrome extension this allows you to schedule pins in bulk amount (I usually do about 50 - 100 at a time)
- Schedule re-pins.
- Track your re-pins, likes, comments and follower engagement over time.
SCHEDULING PINS
This is a screenshot of my weekly schedule on tailwind for this Monday. Tailwind has chosen optimized time slots to schedule my pins. I usually schedule 90-100 pins per day. The key to this is that you aren't just pinning your own content! The majority of these pins will be content from other blogs and websites that I enjoy, and are related to my blogging niche.
Below is a screenshot of my tailwind dashboard. As you can see, there is a lot of engagement and an increasing number of followers and re-pins. I found it very straightforward to learn how to use tailwind the entire system is very intuitive and simple to understand.
OPTIMIZING CONTENT AND BOARDS
The built-in pin inspector on tailwind makes it easy for you to ensure that all of your pins have source URL links. It will also prompt you to add descriptions and categories to your boards if there are areas left blank. Again, this helps other people on Pinterest find your content when they search for keywords.
OTHER PRO TIPS:
Make your profile stand out. Be sure to upload a high-quality profile photo, upgrade your account to Pinterest for businesses, and verify your website. Writing a good bio that explains what your blog is about is also a great idea. This will make it easier for people who are interested in your content to find you.
Use Canva or photoshop to design high-quality images. Longer pins really do stand out and will get re-pinned more. The simpler, the better. Large text and bright colours help draw attention to your pins.
Make sure you have at least 10 boards that are focused on your blogging niche. Writing a description for each board will help people to easily find your boards.
Don't just re-pin your own content make sure you're pinning content from other blogs and websites that you enjoy!
Pin to group boards. I can't stress this enough! You can find group boards that are related to your blogging niche over at PinGroupie. For example, I searched out group boards that are related to natural health, herbal remedies, and holistic nutrition. I post on these group boards using tailwind every day. Again, be sure to post your own blog content, as well as pins from other blogs that you enjoy!
