Cozy up with these 6 essential oil diffuser blends this holiday season! Whether you're decorating the tree, baking cookies, or dancing to christmas music... these diffuser blends will make your home smell delicious - without the toxins.
It's time to be honest: are you guilty of burning scented candles or using plugin air fresheners in your home during the holiday season? I know those labels can be convincing... it certainly doesn't seem like there would be any toxic chemicals lurking in a ""vanilla snowflake" candle, or a "gingerbread house" air freshener.
But although they sound delicious, scented candles are actually one of the top contributors to pollution indoors (along with conventional cleaning products, dryer sheets, and spray air fresheners)! Petroleum-based scented candles have been shown to contain carcinogenic chemicals such as benzene and toluene, and some of them even have wicks that contain heavy metals such as lead.
What's even worse is that the synthetic fragrances and dyes that are added (on top of all those other toxic chemicals contained in the paraffin wax) are also hazardous to your health. Any time you see the word "fragrance" or "parfume" on a label, it may as well say "chemical cocktail"! Synthetic fragrances usually contain carcinogenic phthalates and endocrine disrupting parabens. In fact, the average fragrance product contains 14 chemicals that are not listed on the label!
Burning scented petroleum-based paraffin candles - even just for just a couple of hours can lead to toxic levels of airborne chemicals that exceed Environmental Protection Agency standards. It really isn't fair that companies are still allowed to manufacture these kinds of products and sell them to unsuspecting consumers. Nobody wants those kinds of chemicals in their home, right?!
Diffuse Oils Instead!
The great thing about using essential oils as a natural air freshener, is that not only do they make your home smell wonderful, but they also have added health benefits. Aromatherapy can support your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Diffusing pure, therapeutic grade essential oils is one of the easiest ways to access the power of aromatherapy!
Some of the benefits of diffusing essential oils:
- Cleansing and deodorizing
- Boost your immune system

Why Young Living?
The vast majority of essential oils from other companies are extracted using high heat, high pressure, and chemical solvents. Although the final product may still contain the aroma of the plant, these harsh processing methods destroy the therapeutic qualities of the oils. Using lesser-quality oils for therapeutic purposes is never recommended and can be extremely toxic. Since essential oils are the concentrated essence of the plant, any contaminants in the soil or on the plant will become present in the oil. Quality matters when you are looking to get therapeutic results!!!
Young Living distills oils at minimum pressures and temperatures to gently coax the oil and all of its compounds into the finished product, even though significant money, time, and labor can be saved by distilling at high pressures and high temperatures, like many companies do. High pressure/high temperature distillation may produce an oil with the fragrance compounds of an oil, but not with the beneficial compounds. Young Living never uses solvents to finish off the distilling process as many companies do.
