How to Make a Bulletproof Matcha Latte to boost your brain function, and nourish your body with antioxidants and healthy fats!

Anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I love a good GREEN drink - whether it's a smoothie, a fresh juice, or a matcha latté! Just thinking about it makes me smile. I've been making matcha at home now for quite a while, but I just recently learned of a new way to boost the superfood qualities of this delicious tea… Bulletproof matcha. Have you ever tried it?

You may be familiar with bulletproof coffee - which involves adding brain octane (medium chain triglycerides from coconut oil) and grass-fed butter (with a blender), to boost antioxidant and fat-burning qualities, to your coffee! It is truly delicious.

I was introduced to brain octane through bulletproof coffee. When I heard about this whole bulletproof matcha trend - I was immediately on board. What could be more delicious?

    Bulletproof Matcha

Matcha is a super potent type of green tea, that is high in antioxidants, as well as fat soluble L-theanine.  Theanine promotes relaxation and alertness - working together with caffeine (which is also found in matcha) to enhance endurance, and memory, and reaction time. There is about 1/ 4 of the amount of caffeine in matcha as there is in coffee.

What sets matcha apart from other green teas, is that it is grown in the shade. It just so happens that shade-grown green tea is typically much higher in L-theanine, so this is just another reason to choose matcha over regular green tea!

If you're looking for a truly GOOD coffee alternative, bulletproof matcha could be a great choice for you. Or, if you just love superfood tea lattes and want to give this beautiful green drink a taste - I highly recommend it.

Caffeine and theanine have a nootropic effect when you combine them – together, they promote calm alertness, as well as mental endurance, short-term memory, and faster reaction time [1]. That could explain why matcha has been a favorite of Zen monks for centuries.

Bulletproof matcha is a great way to nourish your body and your brain with antioxidants and healthy fats.
