    Essential Oil Roller for Headaches

    This DIY essential oil roller for headaches is a the best headache remedy ever! Lavender and peppermint are combined with other essential oils that are proven to help relieve headaches and muscle tension.

    This is a blend I NEVER leave behind when I leave the house!

    Young Living lavender and marjoram are both classified as natural health products in Canada to help relieve headaches. Peppermint is very cooling on the temples, and copaiba helps magnify the effects of the other oils in this blend. Helichrysum acts as a nervine and calmative on the nervous system.

    My family has found this headache remedy to be extremely useful, and quick to relieve headaches. This blend can be made in a 10 ml roller bottle, diluted in Young Living V6.

    I always keep this roll-on close at hand when I'm at work or travelling, because it's good for so many different things. Try using it on sore muscles, after your workout, upset stomach, or just as a calming scent at the end of the day before bed.

    Headache Melt
    + 15 drops peppermint
    + 15 drops lavender
    + 10 drops marjoram
    + 2 drops copaiba
    + 2 drops helichrysum

    How to blend oils in a roller bottle

    These recipe is based on a 10 ml roller bottle. The best way to blend oils is:

    • fill the roller bottle ½ way with Young Living V6, fractionated coconut oil (or your choice of carrier oil – sweet almond oil is also nice)
    • add the essential oils
    • fill the remaining space with your carrier oil

    How to use

    Roll on your temples, chest, wrists and neck. If you have an upset stomach or nausea due to migraine - roll this blend onto your stomach as well.

    Lavender

    Steam distilled from the flowering plants grown at the Young Living farms in Simiane-la-Rotonde, France, and Mona, Utah, lavender is the most versatile essential oil. Its refreshing, relaxing scent has balancing properties that also bring a sense of calm.

    In Aromatherapy can be used topically:

    • to help relieve joint or muscle pain associated with sprains, strains & rheumatoid arthritis
    • or inhaled can act as a nervine and calmative which enhances relaxation
    • or inhaled to reduce the symptoms of cold & cough
    • when experiencing digestive discomfort can act as a carminative and antispasmodic
    • to help relieve headache

    Peppermint 

    One of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs, peppermint essential oil has a fresh aroma that is energizing to give you a renewed feeling of vigor.

    In Aromatherapy can be used topically:

    • to relieve joint or muscle pain associated with sprains, strains & rheumatoid arthritis
    • or inhaled can act as a nervine and calmative which enhances relaxation
    • or inhaled to reduce the symptoms of cold & cough
    • when experiencing digestive discomfort can act as a carminative and antispasmodic

    Helichrysum

    Derived from the flowering tops in EasternEurope, helichrysum was traditionally used to support healthy looking skin. The helichrysum flowers are commonly called "everlasting" or "immortal."

    In Aromatherapy can be used topically to:

    • reduce the symptoms of acne or boils
    • relieve minor skin irritation, cuts, bruises & burns
    • help relieve joint or muscle pain associated with sprains, strains & rheumatoid arthritis
    • or inhaled can act as a nervine and calmative which enhances relaxation
    • inhaled to reduce the symptoms of cold & cough
    • when experiencing digestive discomfort can act as a carminative and antispasmodic
    • to experience relief from eczema and dermatitis

    Marjoram

    Marjoram has a woody, spicy aroma that has a warm, calming effect. It is a relaxing oil that is great to use for massaging after physical activity, making it an essential addition to the Raindrop Collection.

    In Aromatherapy can be used topically:

    • to relieve minor skin irritation, cuts, bruises & burns
    • to help relieve joint or muscle pain associated with sprains, strains & rheumatoid arthritis
    • or inhaled can act as a nervine and calmative which enhances relaxation
    • or inhaled to reduce the symptoms of cold & cough
    • when experiencing digestive discomfort can act as a carminative and antispasmodic
    • to experience relief from eczema and dermatitis
    • to help relieve headache

        Hi Kaley, This is a proprietary blend made by Young Living, combining fractionated coconut oil, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, wheat germ oil (contains a lot of vitamin E and acts as a natural preservative), sunflower oil, and olive oil.
