Welcome! My name is Jasmine and I’m a Certified Holistic Nutritionist from Ontario, Canada. Here you will find healthy recipes that are dairy-free, often gluten-free, and packed with nourishing gut-healthy ingredients.
When I'm not making green juice and smoothies, you can usually find me outside hiking, sailing, or enjoying our cold Canadian winters. I am obsessed with: coffee, the cottage, our black lab Otter, reading, and learning about holistic health.
Since a very young age, I have taken a keen interest in the health of our natural environment. I completed my BSc in Natural Science at Lakehead University in the spring of 2015, with a strong focus on wildlife biology and evolution. More recently I have realized how our health is intrinsically related to the health our ecosystems. I intend to encourage others to take responsibility for their own wellbeing through holistic health and nutrition. I believe that eating a plant based, organic diet of unprocessed whole foods will change the way that we interact with our natural resources, and result in a widespread epidemic health for anyone who is willing to take on the challenge.
I started this blog (previously known as Wild Green Life) late in 2015, when I began my studies in Holistic Nutrition with Alive Academy. My goal was to share what I learned along the way, and use this website to reach out to others with similar interests. Since then I have connected with hundreds of people from around the world, and I am so grateful for everyone who has supported me on this journey.
In January 2020 I rebranded to the name NourishMint Kitchen. This has been something I’ve been thinking changing for quite some time now, and I figured that the start of 2020 was the best time for a fresh start. If I’m being honest, I was never 100% set on my original business name (Wild Green Life) - it never really inspired me!
The idea for NourishMint Kitchen came to me spontaneously one day and as soon as I said it out loud I knew it was perfect. I sat on it for a long time and asked some of my closest friends and family for their thoughts, and everyone agreed that it was perfect for me! I love to create nourishing, healthy food and I spend probably 99% of my time in the kitchen doing just that - whenever I have the chance. Of course the “mint” play on words is also perfect because of my love of essential oils! This new name is everything I love to share about, all wrapped up in one simple (and hopefully memorable) name!!
I can honestly say that I feel totally re-inspired to share more healthy recipes and eco friendly living tips in 2020. I may not have it all planned out, but I have inspiration and motivation, and that’s what really counts, right!? Thank you to everyone who has been following along with me from the start, I really appreciate it and I can’t wait to see what this year will bring.
