    Valentines Day Essential Oils

Valentines is upon us again, and you'll be oh so surprised to find out that I plan on celebrating with an array of beautiful + divine essential oil aromas. I've always loved this holiday, I feel like it gives all of us something to look forward to in the seemingly endless winter months.

Whether you are spending your Valentines with a loved one, or taking some time to yourself to relax and unwind, February is time of joy, peace, and self-love. At this point in the winter, I would say we all deserve a little self-care!

This month also marks the 1 year anniversary of my blog, and 13 months since I brought essential oils into my life in a big way. Over the past couple of weeks I've seen enormous growth in my blog, and I can't thank my viewers and followers enough for your support! When I started Wild Green Life a year ago, I never dreamed that I would be getting this kind of exposure so quickly, and this is only the beginning!

I had the pleasure of celebrating this success this past weekend, with a photoshoot with my good friend Erin Caitlin. Erin is an amazing photographer, and she inspires me every day. Erin, I can't thank you enough for doing this for me! To view Erin's portfolio or book a photoshoot with her, visit: www.erincaitlin.com, or keep scrolling to see more photos from our day together!

To celebrate love this month, I have selected 6 of my favourite joyful + sweet + romantic + feminine essential oils for your inspiration.... read on to learn more about how to incorporate these beautiful plant essences into your Valentines this year...

A Touch of Love: Essential Oils for You + Your Valentine

Joy invites a sense of romance, bliss, and warmth when diffused. Apply 2-4 drops of this sweet + uplifting blend over the heart, or add 15 drops to a 10 ml roller bottle with fractionated coconut oil to create a beautiful perfume.  When worn as a fragrance, Joy invites togetherness.

Jasmine has a very delicate, light scent. Considered to be exotic and romantic, Jasmine (Jasminum officinale) has a warm, floral fragrance that relaxes the mind, soothes, uplifts and enhances self-confidence. Jasmine has been used throughout history for attraction and balancing the feminine energy of the body. Jasmine also supports the skin's appearance.

Ylang Ylang has a sensational + rich floral scent. Try making these relaxing DIY Massage Bars with ylang ylang essential oil for a relaxing and intimate massage. Other ways to use ylang ylang include:16731823_1251923934893160_2131702797_o

    • Rub on your wrists and neck to leave a calming, floral fragrance you can smell throughout the day.
    • Use Ylang Ylang’s moisturizing properties as part of your skin care regimen by adding the oil to a neutral lotion or carrier oil.
    • Add a couple of drops to coconut oil for a deep-conditioning hair treatment that will leave hair smelling floral and sweet.
    • Put a few drops into epsom salts, and add to a hot bath to unwind after a long day.

    Abundance
combines oils such as Orange and Ginger, which were used by ancient cultures to attract prosperity and magnify joy and peace. It has a citrus + spice scent, with deep notes of frankincense, myrrh and cinnamon.

Patchouli has an earthy and exotic aroma. Diffuse Patchouli for a calming, relaxing, and peaceful fragrance. When inhaled, patchouli can act as a nervine and calmative which enhances relaxation. This essential oil may be used topically to improve the appearance of dry skin and is an ideal complement when added to your favorite skin care products.

SARA is blend of Geranium, Ylang Ylang, Rose, Blue Tansy, and other oils that is designed as a soothing scent to be used during difficult or emotional times. SARA helps us to  release emotional + physical abuse from the mind, body, and soul.  Apply 2-4 drops over heart, on chest and wrists. Try using SARA essential oil in these super easy DIY Bath Bombs.

    A Touch of Inspiration

There are so many ways that you could use these essential oils to brighten you + your loved one's day. A couple of ideas....

    QUALITY ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential oils offer the greatest benefits when they are in their natural, pure state. Oils that are cut with synthetic chemicals, diluted, or extracted using chemical solvents have been altered from their natural state and lack the beneficial components that pure essential oils provide.16735163_1251923961559824_1473144434_o
